These terms cover the 88years.com website as it stands today, which is a single page describing a product that is not on sale yet, plus an email signup form. Nothing can be bought here.
Two things on this page are not filled in yet.
The business behind 88.years is not registered yet, so the legal entity name, the registered address and the trade licence number are marked as placeholders below. They will be replaced with real details before the shop opens. Anything highlighted in yellow is a placeholder, not a real value.
Who runs this site

What you can do here right now
You can read about the project and give us an email address so we can tell you when a design opens or a country unlocks. That is the whole site at the moment. There is no checkout, no account, no order, and no payment method stored anywhere.
The email list
- Joining the list costs nothing and obliges you to nothing.
- Being on the list does not reserve a sticker, a number, or a place in any queue. When the shop opens, claiming a design is a separate step you take yourself.
- Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to remove you by emailing sticker@88years.com.
- Give us your own email address, not someone else's.
Nothing on this page is an offer
The descriptions of how the shop will work describe the intended model. They are not a contract. As things stand, a design goes to print once 88 people have claimed it, and no design is printed more than 880 times. Those figures, the price, and the length of the claim window may change before the shop opens.
The sale terms that apply to an actual purchase will be published on the shop when it opens, and those terms will govern any order. This page will not.
What belongs to whom
The illustrations, the mark, the page design and the written copy on this site belong to 88.years. Do not reproduce them for commercial use without asking.
The proverbs themselves do not belong to us and we do not claim them. They are shared cultural material and they belong to the people who say them. What we own is a particular drawing of a particular saying, nothing more.
If you send us a proverb suggestion, you are giving us permission to use it, to have it verified, to draw it and to print it. You keep no ownership over the saying, because nobody owns a proverb, and you do not gain ownership over any artwork we make from it. If a suggestion becomes a design we will put the suggester's name on the packaging, with their agreement.
Accuracy
We check every proverb against multiple independent sources and with native speakers of the dialect it belongs to. We still expect to get things wrong sometimes. Tell us and we will correct it.
Availability
This is a small operation. The site may be offline for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, and we do not promise uninterrupted access.

This page links to Instagram. We are not responsible for what happens on sites we do not run.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page when things change, and the date at the top will change with it. There is no version history, so if you need a copy of these terms as they stand today, save one.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute.
